RPD student wins prestigious Ted Symons Scholarship

Angela Asuncion, second year Rural Planning and Development graduate student in SEDRD wins the prestigious Ted Symons Scholarship awarded by College of Social and Applied Sciences to support students who are doing research to help protect and preserve the environment. Angela's research focuses on exploring the behaviours of Canadian mining operations in the Philippines, shedding light on the abuse of this global industry operating at the local scale. She is working with an international team of experts within the Philippines and Canada funded by a SSHRC Insight grant, held at the University of Guelph by Profs. Brunet, Gibson and Longboat.
