The 2018 Rural Symposium is an opportunity for University of Guelph graduate students to showcase their rural research to policy makers, policy analysts, and program staff from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). The event facilitates knowledge mobilization and network building between graduate students at the University of Guelph, researchers, and OMAFRA .
2018 Rural Symposium will take place on February 28, 2018 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Conference Centre at 1 Stone Road in Guelph. There is no registration to attend the Rural Symposium, however, registration is requested to facilitate planning. Click here to register.

Submit Presentations and Poster Abstracts
Do you want to promote your research to rural policy and regional development specialists? Are you looking for an opportunity to connect with rural policy analysts? Here is your chance! The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, is hosting a one-day knowledge exchange event to showcase rural research being conducted at the University of Guelph. The symposium is an opportunity for graduate students to share their research with researchers, policy analysts, and program staff with the OMAFRA.
Graduate students interested in sharing their research as a 15-minute presentation, or poster, need to submit an abstract before January 15, 2018. It is suggested that students develop their abstracts in consultation with their faculty advisors. Abstracts should be submitted online – click here to submit an abstract. Students will receive notification on February 1st, 2018 regarding the acceptance of their abstract.
