"The Marsupia Project (A Multifunctional Agriculture for Sustainable Peri-Urban Areas)"
Thursday, September 25, 2014
10:00 - 12:00
Mikaêl is currently working in SEDRD alongside Prof. Karen Landman and Prof. Harry Cummings on this project.
Recently I arrived at SEDRD, and I would like to share the exciting research that I am undertaking for the next two years. My research interests focus on farming in near urban areas. Here in Guelph, I am going to assess the impact of the Greenbelt policy on farmers’ investment and production decisions.
In order to achieve this I am going to use of mix of qualitative and quantitative methods such as mind mapping and econometrics. Once results are collected and analyzed in Canada, I will apply the same methodology in France in Toulouse Metropolitan Area where urban sprawl is a burning issue as well.
I would like to present you this research project in more details during a seminar, which will take place on September 25th at 10:00 am in Room 143.
Hope to see you there!
