Free ASIST Training

The campus ASIST training team ise excited to be offering a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) on December 11 and 12, 2019. This training is open to any current University of Guelph faculty, staff, or student and is strongly recommended for individuals who have direct responsibilities for assisting those experiencing significant difficulties, or those who work outside of normal business hours who may need to deal with a crisis situation without available professional support.

Free Classical Yoga Class Every Tuesday

Classical Yoga is a particularly effective and efficient system to not only stretch, tone and develop the muscles but stimulate robust health in all systems of the body.  Regular practice can relieve stress and anxiety and promote mental concentration.

Pound: Free Fitness Class

Let loose with this fun full body workout that fuses strength training, Pilates-inspired movements and cardio moves with drumming. Designed for all fitness levels. 

Labyrinth Drop-In

The labyrinth is available for anyone to drop-by and walk through.

Zumba: Free Fitness Class

This Latin dance fitness class combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body with easy to follow dance steps.

Wednesday Walks at the Arboretum

Nature is known to be unpredictable and unexpected, so what awaits us today?  Rachel, the Arboretum's Naturalist Intern, leads 1 hour long walks every Wednesday year-round.  Walks start at The Arboretum kiosk at 12:15 p.m.   The hike may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.   Please check the Arboretum's Facebook and Instagram page for a notice if the weekly walk is cancelled due to weather.  For further information contact Sally at scheun06@uoguelph.ca or ext. 52363.

Desk Jockey Yoga: Free Fitness Class

Take a break from your busy day with this gentle restorative class to calm your mind, increase strength, flexibility, vitality, and awareness. Release tension in the muscles and joints caused by sitting, reading, or working at a desk. All levels are welcome. 

Wellness Friday: The Art of Relaxation

Today's life is fast-paced and leaves little time to relax and decompress. Greater pressure is being put on all of us to do more. The result is that many of us have lost the ability to sit still and simply be with ourselves. This session will explore personal stress triggers and review some practical, easy techniques to make brief relaxation moments a natural part of everyday life. Facilitator: Homewood Health
