Get to know your campus Athletic Facilities - July 2022

Looking to start a new fitness or wellness journey? Did you know that all staff/faculty on campus have access to a subsidized rate to use the on-campus facilities? Join us on a tour of what programming/services and equipment is available to our staff/faculty members and why the Athletic facilities might just be the best fit for you! Attendees of this tour will receive a free day pass for recreation in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre, including access to the Fitness Centre and / or a fitness class, to use at their convenience!

U of G On Tour: Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming

The Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming (GCUOF) is a one-hectare learning and research facility established by the Ontario Agricultural College within the Department of Plant Agriculture at the University of Guelph and is a certified organic farm.

Looking to learn more about your U of G Guelph campus? Take your break and join our tour guide, Hilary Holmes, U of G Pathways Advisor, for a stroll. Hilary was employed as a U of G campus tour guide from 2012-2015 and has toured hundreds of students and their families. Thanks Hilary for coming out of "tour guide retirement" just for this session! All are welcome, so bring a friend or colleague.

Yoga on Johnston Green - July 2022

Please join us to take your break and enjoy a Classical yoga class on U of G's beautiful Johnston Green. Three 10$ hospitality gift cards will be awarded by random draw. When you arrive, let us know that it is your first time doing in-person yoga to be entered into the draw. Bring a buddy and both of you will be entered into the draw! The event is open to All - staff, faculty, students, alumni, and visitors. No experience is required. Don’t forget to bring your yoga mat and water! 

Beyond the Books Mental Health Literacy Training

Beyond the Books is a live virtual session that will first provide participants with general information on the prevalence of mental challenges and illness. It will then help participants to identify signs of troubling behaviour and give them skills to engage in a preliminary discussion to determine if referral to a professional is necessary.

CANCELLED- U of G On Tour: Conservatory Gardens Walk and Talk

John Reinhart, Grounds Manager, will take participants on a Walk and Talk to explore the U of G Conservatory Gardens. John has worked at U of G for 48 years and has been involved with 1/3 - 1/2 of all trees planted on campus. Come learn about new plantings, plant problems, botany, history of campus and more! Take a break to enjoy the fresh air and take a stroll through our beautiful campus. Everyone is welcome to join, so please bring a colleague or friend along with you! 

Wellness Wednesday: Psychological Hygiene

From a very young age we adopt common physical hygiene habits such as brushing our teeth, washing our hands and taking regular showers. What about hygiene habits that focus on our mental health? This 1 hour, interactive session will increase participant’s awareness and understanding of psychological hygiene while learning the factors that can promote and preserve good mental health. Individuals will gain practical tools and resources to activate their own personal psychological hygiene practice.
