On May 6, 2019 faculty, staff and students from across campus were invited to the Kick-off Celebration for U of G's second annual Be Well, Be Safe Week.  View the keynote speaker recording

Generous donations were accepted for the CSA Food Bank on campus. Attendees were welcomed by the Royal City Ukulele Ensemble with a great live musical performance during lunch.   Don O'Leary, Vice-President of Finance Administration and Risk, shared some opening remarks and welcomed everyone to the kick-off event. Keynote speaker Scott Ste. Marie spoke about The Happiness Trap and his own personal experience living with mental illness.

"It was a great lift to my spirit to get out and see other people from all over campus. The speaker was very enlightening and the lunch was fabulous! Well done by all who helped organize and make this event such a nice experience."

"It was a good chance to re-connect with colleagues, enjoy food, meet new people. I left feeling quite motivated and empowered by the keynote speaker."

"Just wanted to say, what a great lunch!!!  When it said light lunch I wasn't expecting all the great food, but greatly appreciated.  The speaker was excellent, thought I would let you know that he was really great and what a great topic. Kudos to the team for all of the hard work putting the whole event together."

"Speaker was amazing. It was great to be able to socialize with people over lunch and discuss wellness."

Participants had fun spinning the prize wheel and spending some time reflecting on the welcome board question, "What inspires you or gives you hope?"

Here are some photo highlights from the event!
