During the month of August, Wellness@Work challenged employees to have "tech-free" Tuesday evenings.

Congrats to Victoria, who has won the prize for her participation in this activity!  Learn about her experience being technology free a few evenings throughout the month:

What activities or tasks did you do Tuesday evenings in place of screen time?

In place of screen time, I would go to the gym on the way home from work and workout until 6pm. I would then come home and make dinner, and instead of eating in front of the TV, I would eat at my dining table and discuss my day with my family. I would meal prep my lunch for the following day and then I would either read a book or magazine, or I would work on a blanket that I am crocheting. Before bed, I would get into the habit of journaling my day and reflect on the positive things that happened as well as within my life.

How did this challenge help you to feel happier or healthier?

It gave me peace of mind knowing that I was being productive, it also helped me develop new habits. Instead of watching TV, or using my phone letting the hours slip by, I was able to focus my energy on other positive activities. It also allowed me to spend more quality time with my friends and family. I found myself to be less tired and I went to bed each Tuesday night feeling accomplished.
