Join Walter H. Kehm on November 24 at 7:00 pm for his book launch titled 'Accidental Wilderness: The Origins and Ecology of Toronto's Tommy Thompson Park'. Once referred to as Toronto’s "accidental wilderness,” Tommy Thompson Park is now recognized as an urban miracle.  Initially created as a landfill site, the park has grown dramatically. Forests, grasslands, and wildlife now thrive – all steps from the most densely populated areas of North America’s fourth-largest city.

Katie Allen, a PhD student in Rural Studies in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, will be presenting her Qualifying Exam on "A Quixotic Quest? Can Social Finance Tools Advance the Gender Equality Agenda in Rural Canada?".

We are excited to have Dr. Aubrey Streit Krug, Director of Ecosphere Studies at The Land Institute, join the SEDRD Speaker Series to discuss “Ecosphere Studies: Learning and Unlearning for a Perennial Future”. This event will be held remotely.
