UofG’s BLA4 Studio Pursue Winter Stations Competition in the Beach, Toronto

The 4th year Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Studio will undertake this year’s Winter Stations Project in the Beach Area of Toronto. This projects deals with community design interventions, and creating installation spaces that attract and enhance the community. Winter Stations Design Competition will be hosting its fourth year as an international design competition to bring temporary public land art installation to the Beaches area of Toronto, as a means to celebrate the winter waterfront landscape and to draw the local community and attract the general public. Lifeguard stations will be used as part of the installation, in Balmy, Kew and Ashbridges Bay beaches along the Toronto waterfront, during 6 weeks. This year, the University of Guelph will be one of three universities represented at the event.

Former Architectural Critic of The Globe and Mail, and jury member, Lisa Rochon provided a site tour for the students along with Prof. Nadia Amoroso of SEDRD, on September 14th.
