Assistant or Associate Professor Position in Rural Planning and Development (2 positions) Available

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) invites applications for two (2) positions in Rural Planning and Development at the Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor level. 

We are currently seeking two outstanding new colleagues having either Canadian, International and/or Canadian & International professional experience and who will teach the theory and practice of planning through the development of knowledge, skills and values in a variety of Canadian and international contexts. We are looking for people to support the following, but not limited to, planning subjects: natural resources; environment; corporate social responsibility; social enterprise; community development; social, cultural and geo-spatial planning; health; migration, mobility and demography; public administration; financial management; program evaluation; human resources management; techniques in planning facilitation and communication; disasters; and/or quantitative research methods. Work experience with government, civil society and private sector organizations will be an asset.  One position will ideally be central to international content in teaching, supervision, research, and outreach within the program.

We invite applications from qualified candidates who can work within our interdisciplinary environment and who can contribute to teaching across the School’s programs. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to our MSc, MPlan and PhD programs.  Applicants will be expected to demonstrate their potential for leadership in the development and delivery of planning instruction in lecture courses, seminars, fieldwork, and in the supervision of Master’s and PhD students.
