CDE student, Madeline Arseneau awarded A.D. Latornell Award of Merit

Congratulations to Capacity Development and Extension graduate student, Madeline Arseneau who was recently awarded the A.D. Latornell Award of Merit presented by the Soil and Water Conservation Society.  Madeline's research is on soil literacy and the role that capacity development and extension can play in developing soil literacy to promote soil conservation. 

As part of the Soil and Water Conservation Society – Ontario Chapter’s ongoing initiative for continuing education and fostering the science and art of soil, water and related natural resources, SWCS presented the A.D. Latornell Award of Merit at the 2019 Latornell Conservation Symposium. It recognizes those who through their dedicated hard work and in-depth studies strive to achieve sustainability and promote sound natural resource systems. Of key importance is the acknowledgement of the interdependence between people and their environmental setting.
