Recess League

Do you miss the good old days on the playground? We have the solution for you, Recess League runs weekly with a random sport picked each time inspired by school yard games. Recess League is a great way to have a mental wellness break in the middle of the work or school day! Examples of sports that are played in Recess League are 3-on-3 Basketball, Kickball, Nerf, Ultimate Frisbee, Scooter Dodge-ball, and so many more! There is no previous experience required.

Lighting the Qulliq & Inuit Artifacts with Inuit Knowledge Keeper Tauni Sheldon

Join Inuit Knowledge Keeper Tauni Sheldon as she lights the Inuit Qulliq and speaks to Inuit history through artifacts. Hear samples of Inuit music and throat singing and get interactive with Inuit artifacts such as the drum. Learn about artifacts that have been passed down since time immemorial and listen to teachings on how Inuit preserve their culture through stories Tauni will share.

WEBINAR: Developing Community Partnerships

Whether you work on campus or in a community organization, its increasingly challenging to meet the mental health and wellness needs of students on your own. Developing partnerships with other organizations in your community can help as you each have unique skills, resources and/or approaches that would benefit others.  However, partnerships like any relationship takes time and effort.

Wednesday Walks at the Arboretum

Nature is known to be unpredictable and unexpected, so what awaits us today?  Rachel, the Arboretum's Naturalist Intern, leads 1 hour long walks every Wednesday year-round.  Walks start at The Arboretum kiosk at 12:15 p.m.   The hike may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.   Please check the Arboretum's Facebook and Instagram page for a notice if the weekly walk is cancelled due to weather.  For further information contact Sally at scheun06@uoguelph.ca or ext. 52363.
