Tapping into the Power of Appreciation and Recognition During Covid-19 and Beyond

Appreciation, recognition, and gratitude are a remarkably strong source of energy that we all possess. When we can tap into that powerful source of energy it can have a deep, positive effect on our work relationships and successful outcomes. In this session we will explore the science behind the impact of appreciation, recognition, and gratitude, what makes it such a dynamic force and the specific ways you can integrate these energy sources into your day. The Fundamentals of Change and Transition

Homewood Health has partnered with Occupational Health and Wellness to host this webinar. Description: Change is a fact of life, but letting go of the familiar can be challenging. When individuals understand the need for change, and are resourced to manage it, they can transition with greater ease. Participants in this session will explore strategies, frameworks, self-care tools and resources to navigate the change process successfully.

Coffee Connections: Home Decorating and Renovations

Join this edition of “Coffee Connections” to casually connect with colleagues from across U of G. This is a social chance to connect virtually with other faculty and staff to chat about a common interest: home decorating!  Share your home decorating goals, inspire one another and chat about upcoming renovations. Coffee Connections is a series running several Fridays in October, with the intention of building community connections on campus over a shared interest.

Take your Break: Free hot beverage for employees currently working on-campus only

Taking regular breaks during the work day can help you de-stress and re-charge. Employees who are currently working at the Guelph campus as requested by their Manager or Supervisor, are invited to enjoy a free hot beverage on Oct 14 morning.  This opportunity is only available to those who are working on-campus, and those working remotely are not to come to campus for this event.  Stop by the UC Centre Six Tim Hortons or the OVC Cafeteria  between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m. for a free medium coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
