Looking to begin your fitness journey? This program is designed to teach you proper use of resistance machines and free weights safely, aiming to help you feel confident and see results. All sessions take place in the NRG Zone, our NEW training studio. This space provides a more private training experience, creating a safe learning environment. All skills and identities are welcome. This Be Well Be Safe Week, come join fellow University of Guelph staff members on this fun opportunity to go climbing and enjoy a new activity. During this experience, you will have exclusive use of the climbing wall with our trained staff! They will belay you, teach you how to belay, as well as how to properly tie a knot for climbing top rope. You will feel comfortable at the climbing wall by learning techniques and trying bouldering and top rope climbing in a safe and positive environment. All equipment, harnesses and climbing shoes, are included in this climbing wall program.
Designed by Living Works, SafeTALK is a 3.5 hours alertness training and certification that prepares anyone, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. This training includes understanding of the importance of suicide alertness, learning to identify ways people invite help, and how to connect those who need help with resources when they are at risk.

Research has shown that engaging in creativity offers a myriad of benefits for both the mind and body, enhancing overall well-being in several key areas such as increased emotional intelligence, personal growth and resilience, enhanced cognitive function, and joy and fulfillment.
Developed by the Mental Health Commission Canada, this 2-day certification course focuses on the four most common mental health disorders including substance-related, mood-related, anxiety and trauma-related, and psychotic disorders.
This course includes CPR training for adults, children and babies. It includes choking for conscious and unconscious, adult, children and babies. EpiPen and Naloxone training and certification in AED (automatic external defibrillation). Certification is valid for three years. Wellness@Work will be covering the cost of $60 so it free to attendees.

This Be Well Be Safe Week, join us for an hour-long interpretive nature walk through the beautiful arboretum led by Christa Wise, The Arb's Naturalist Intern. We will explore how we can use compassion and intentional curiosity to deepen our connection to the natural world. Please remember to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring your water bottle as needed.

This Be Well, Be Safe Week, "Voices of Joy" invites participants to explore the essence of joy through persona poetry, embodying the perspectives of objects or places that bring them joy. Through guided writing prompts and sample poem readings, we'll uncover the beauty and significance of everyday items that bring us happiness. This workshop offers a creative journey of introspection, connection, and poetic expression.
