Managing Time Before and After Vacation

Taking vacation time is important for our health.  However, the time before and after a vacation can be stressful. Often, there are deadlines to meet before taking time off from work and prioritizing in a time crunch can be a challenge. Returning from time off can also be stressful if work has piled up. 

Looking for some strategies to help prevent or reduce the stress associated with vacation time?  

Watch a short Lynda.com video called, "manage time before and after vacations" with tips and tricks on time management, including:

  1. Plan your vacation well in advance 
  2. Schedule time before and after the vacation to be free from meetings 
  3. Focus on processing work tasks on the days before and after your time off
  4. Create a "gathering point" to record work-related ideas that come to mind while away from work
