More and more, professions and professional schools look for young people with broad training, adaptable skills and clear judgment. Our students study a wide range of thematic courses, including: Food History, War and Society, Gender and Sexuality, and Rural History. Our graduates are flexible, intelligent, polished communicators, researchers and problem solvers who follow their passions in business, law, education, civil service, journalism and the arts.
 

Experience

  • Begin your History studies in small seminars of 20 – 35 students.
  • Apply your History skills through experiential learning courses such as working on projects with the Guelph Black Heritage Society or designing informational materials for the Aga Khan Museum. Or, complete an independent study or gain workplace experience for credit.
  • Gain special access to University and local archival collections. Recently the University hosted manuscripts from the Middle Ages and Renaissance Era.
  • Learn from experts in a broad range of topics including the history of soccer, coffee, technology, and the environment to name a few.
