Samantha Ackerley graduated in 2011 from the University of Guelph with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History. Samantha’s next step took her to Toronto to complete a Master’s Degree in Photographic Preservation and Collections Management at Ryerson University. Since graduation, Samantha has accumulated an impressive resume, working in the field of collections and photography for the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Stephen Bulger Gallery and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. Currently, Samantha is a Partner and Photographic Preservation Specialist at Archiving Art in Toronto, Ontario.
The University of Guelph resides on the land of the Between the Lakes Treaty No. 3, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. This land is part of the Dish with One Spoon, a covenant between Indigenous nations to live peaceably on the territories of the Great Lakes region. We recognize that today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and acknowledging them reminds us of our collective responsibility to the land where we learn, live and work.
