The 2014 Guelph Philopolis festival is a weekend full of activities where the community can come together to discuss social issues, where everyone gets a say in figuring out how together we can change and strengthen our communities. We're looking for volunteers to lead discussion. What are the big concerns facing our community? What are some promising solutions? We all have important things to say here! If there's a topic that you'd like to explore, please head to the submissions page on our website. The deadline for submissions is September 22.  [This event is organized independently of the Department; we are merely publicizing it.]

The University of Guelph resides on the land of the Between the Lakes Treaty No. 3, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. This land is part of the Dish with One Spoon, a covenant between Indigenous nations to live peaceably on the territories of the Great Lakes region. We recognize that today this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and acknowledging them reminds us of our collective responsibility to the land where we learn, live and work.
