School of Computer Science Announces New Master of Cybersecurity and Threat Intelligence [MCTI] Program

With the number of global cyber-attacks on the rise, the industry demand for cybersecurity professionals has never been higher. According to Christopher D. Young, CEO of McAfee, “We’re approaching a cyber security talent shortage of 2 million people worldwide in the next 3 to 5 years. Every cybersecurity provider can contribute, and when we’re joined by respected education institutions like the University of Guelph, our combined effort makes the world safer.”

Computer Science Students Win Transforming Tomorrow Challenge at Hackathon

School of Computer Science students Marshall Asch, Lindsay Elliott, Devon Miller and Lucas Giancola won the ArcelorMittal Dofasco - Transforming Tomorrow Challenge at Delta Hacks over the weekend over January 26-27th at McMaster University. Delta Hacks is McMaster’s annual student hackathon that encourage students in all fields of study to come together to build real world applications that solve real world problems using technology and innovation.

School of Computer Science Community Mourns Passing of Professor Tom C. Wilson

Professor Thomas Charles (Tom) Wilson, longtime former faculty member of the School of Computer Science at the University of Guelph, passed unexpectedly and peacefully from this life on January 8th, 2019.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 11th at Mary Mother of the Church Parish in La Crosse, Wisconsin where Tom lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Tom in Waterloo, Ontario on Saturday, February 2nd from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM in the Great Hall of St Paul’s University College at University of Waterloo, 190 Westmount Rd N, Waterloo, ON N2L 3G5.
