Eight Lang researchers receive seed funding for new research

Eight Lang researchers have been awarded Explore Grants through the SSHRC Institutional Grants (SIG), an annual internally peer-adjudicated competition that provides seed funding for research that is to result in the development and submission of a future application in an external SSHRC competition.

Lang Associate Professor Emeritus among Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

Associate Professor Emeritus Joe Barth's recent book, Pepper: A Guide to the World's Favourite Spice, was announced as the winner in the spices category for Canada in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 to honour the best food and wine books. This year, culinary books from 225 countries were submitted for the spices category. As the winner for Canada, Barth's book will move forward among 9 others to compete for the Best in the World.

Lang School announces $225,000 in new entrance scholarships

The Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics is excited to announce $225,000 in new entrance scholarships to support students that embody the Lang School’s vision of being a business school for a changing world, redefining leadership and business education.

Generous donation creates bursary for UofG students from Québec

Thanks to the generosity of Lang business alumnus Daniel F. Engels, a new bursary has been created to support Québec students who choose to study at the University of Guelph.

Through a one-time donation by Daniel, the Québec Undergraduate Student Bursary will provide $4,000 in funding each year in perpetuity. Students from Québec, who are registered in a minimum of 2.0 credits from any program, are eligible.
