Established by Dr. Helen Leitch (OAC BSc Agr’81, PhD’93) this scholarship is intended to support students to have a global impact by broader application of their research to international development. She was raised on a farm in Ontario, benefitting richly from U of G, devoted her life to international development with the World Bank, FAO, CGIAR, U of G, Semex & Holstein Canada. She believes U of G has much to offer international dairy development. Apply by May 1 to Dairy at Guelph (sleblanc@uoguelph.ca) with a video (max. 3 minutes) describing your dairy-related research, focusing on how it has the potential to have a beneficial impact on a country or territory eligible to receive official development assistance (ODA) or any peoples or communities residing in an ODA eligible country, and/or how it can be applied globally. Include a one-page CV and a one-page summary of your research plan and how you will apply and mobilize your research in support of development in the targeted location. Video submissions will be posted on the Dairy@Guelph website. Selection will be based on the strongest relevance of research and potential beneficial impact on a developing country, as defined by the Development Assistance Committee of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), or its peoples.

Students registered full-time in any program whose research focuses on dairy and its application to international development.
