The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development and Global Affairs Canada invite you to the magistral presentation of Dr. Paul Winters and Dr. Thouraya Triki from IFAD – United Nations. They will be accompanied by Global Affairs representatives; Mr. Stephen Potter, Director Agriculture and Food Systems and Mr. Anatoliy Shatkovskyy, Senior Analyst. After the presentation there will be small groups meetings.

Come out to a FREE pizza lunch in the LA Pit and learn about what Young Conservation Professionals (YCP) Leadership Program has to offer you! Ever wondered how to deliver an effective presentation or design a poster for a conference? On January 15th, a capacity building session will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 pm in the LA Pit with Shannon Brown. The session will identify best practices for designing posters, discuss how to effectively share findings, and demonstrate why plain language is critical. The session is being organized in preparation for the upcoming 2020 Rural Symposium however, anyone interested is welcome to attend the session.

The Rural Symposium is an annual opportunity for University of Guelph graduate students to showcase their rural research to policy makers, policy analysts, and program staff from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). The event facilitates knowledge mobilization and network building between graduate students at the University of Guelph, researchers, and OMAFRA . The 2020 Rural Symposium will take place on February 5, 2020, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Conference Centre at 1 Stone Road in Guelph.
