Women's Day 5K

Hey Gryphons!   On Friday, March 6th at 9:00 am we are inviting you to participate in our annual Women's Day 5K in an effort to raise awareness against sexual violence and promote women's empowerment.Participants will be wearing a bib that says “I am here because _” to provide their own reason for joining the event.   Feel free to go at your own pace, walk or run!

Walking Track Thursdays

There are many benefits to moving your body at work!  For three Thursdays in March, Athletics is opening up the walking track to all employees for free. No membership required!  All participants must check-in with Client Services and sign an electronic waiver to access the walking track.   Please bring your clean, indoor walking / running shoes only.    Please adhere to the posted walking track guidelines. Stop by anytime on March 5, 12 and 19 to enjoy a walk on your lunch break or bring a colleague for a walking meeting.

Decreasing Headaches

After looking at numerous research studies, the U.S. Headache Consortium (which includes 7 medical societies) has given relaxation therapy, cognitive stress management approaches, and specific biofeedback treatments a Grade A efficacy rating in treating migraine headaches! This 4 session group program meets once a week, providing an introduction to current information on the proven, drug-free strategies most helpful in decreasing, better understanding, and managing stress-related tension headaches and migraine headaches.

Wednesday Walks at the Arboretum

Nature is known to be unpredictable and unexpected, so what awaits us today?  Rachel, the Arboretum's Naturalist Intern, leads 1 hour long walks every Wednesday year-round.  Walks start at The Arboretum kiosk at 12:15 p.m.   The hike may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.   Please check the Arboretum's Facebook and Instagram page for a notice if the weekly walk is cancelled due to weather.  For further information contact Sally at scheun06@uoguelph.ca or ext. 52363.

Free Classical Yoga Class Every Tuesday
