Join a Hospitality Services chef for a behind-the-scences tour of the University Centre basement kitchen and learn more about how Hospitality Services has committed to sustainability at U of G.  Learn about where Hospitality Services purchases food locally, including many products from U of G facilities.  Discover the environmentally friendly initiatives run by Hospitality Services, including the #iamreusable campaign. Ask questions about the food waste reduction programs, including Coffee2Compost and back-of-the-house composting.

Classical Yoga is a particularly effective and efficient system to not only stretch, tone and develop the muscles but stimulate robust health in all systems of the body.  Regular practice can relieve stress and anxiety and promote mental concentration.

Beyond the Books: Mental Health Training

Beyond the Books is a face to face session that will first provide participants with general information on the prevalence of mental challenges and illness. It will then help participants to identify signs of troubling behaviour and give them skills to engage in a preliminary discussion to determine if referral to a professional is necessary.

No Lunch? No Problem! Lunch n' Learn

Come to a Lunch n' Learn session and learn how to easily add fruits and veggies into your meals. Learn quick tips and tricks to cook on a budget and rid your fridge from food waste!  We'll be sharing recipes, please print out your favourite recipe and bring it to the session.  Lunch will be provided to registered participants. Please bring tupperware and a reusable mug for leftovers.   Register today, as space is limited.

Decreasing Headaches

 After looking at numerous research studies, the U.S. Headache Consortium (which includes 7 medical societies) has given relaxation therapy, cognitive stress management approaches, and specific biofeedback treatments a Grade A efficacy rating in treating migraine headaches! This 4 session group program meets once a week, providing an introduction to current information on the proven, drug-free strategies most helpful in decreasing, better understanding, and managing stress-related tension headaches and migraine headaches.
