Nyctophilia

A street corner in the inner city of Toronto has been transformed by a public artwork by Canadian artists Young & Giroux. ‘Nyctophilia’ (love of the night) consists of a small forest of concrete poles, each sprouting several cobra head lamps that glow in different colours and patterns on different nights. The laser scanner and waterjet cutter allowed us to retrofit the lamps with programmable LED lights and bring some dramatic colour to the Mt.Denis neighborhood.
