Financial Support/Awards

Normally the School of English and Theatre Studies guarantees funding to ALL entering students in its MA programs.

Funding guarantees are made on the basis of the School’s financial resources and the applicant’s academic merit, but typically, the funding would comprise of two or three teaching assistantships, based on the stream of study.  Typically students will receive one TAship per semester (Course work stream = F/W position, Thesis stream = F/W/S position). In addition, the School has a limited number of scholarships which are awarded on a competitive basis to qualified students. There are also a number of internal awards and prizes available to graduate students in SETS; please consult the awards website: (LINK) (http://dev.web.uoguelph.ca/arts/awards-database)
