HFTMSA Think Pink

On Monday October 27th, 39 Carden Street will be hosting HFTMSA's annual Think Pink event. HFTMSA's annual fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is a great night of food, drink, and live music! There will be a silent auction consisting of generous donations from local businesses, and members of the community. We hope to see you at 39 Carden Street dressed to impress, in pink! Suggested $5 donation at the door. Think Pink is a registered event with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) and 100% of the proceeds go to the CBCF

HFTM / HAC Semin-Annual Toronto Tour

HAC's semi-annual Toronto tour will take place on October 27th. We will be meeting with management and touring FRHI's corporate offices, The Fairmont Royal York, and Ritz-Carlton. We invited Ryerson students to join us this year and they accepted! This is an excellent opportunity for Guelph and Ryerson students to meet and discuss the hotel industry together. HFTMSA Pumpkin Sale

Fall is here, and so are we (HFTMSA) with our Annual Pumpkin Sale Event! Our first year representatives are busy designing the cannon, and have found some great looking pumpkins for you! On Wednesday, October 22nd from 9am-5pm we will be selling pumpkins at Branion Plaza. Pumpkins are sold by donation, and ALL proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. Come buy to purchase a pumpkin, pick up some Eat. Sleep. Travel gear, be spontaneous and get your NYC ticket, and grab some delicious Hot Chocolate!!

HFTM Speaker Panel: Boutique Hotels

Professor Justin Taillon, PhD Candidate Carrie Herzog, and M.Sc. student Chanel Quan have created a speaker panel for students interested in boutique hotels. The speaker panel will take place at 7pm on October 20th in Rozanski 103. All speakers are HFTM alumni and currently manage boutique hotels. Speaker list: 1. Smart Serve Certification

What is Smart Serve? Smart Serve is a certification required by the province of Ontario for all individuals who plan to serve alcoholic beverages while working in the hospitality industry. Individuals of all ages may take this training and be certified, but you must be 18 years of age or older to serve, sell, or handle alcohol in Ontario. HFTMSA will be hosting a smart serve session, where you can complete the certification & exam! Location: Macdonald Institute (MINS) Room 103 (North end of campus) Price: $35.00 CASH ONLY (includes workbook and test material)
