Tony Elenis, the President & CEO of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association (ORHMA) has been invited to speak in Professor WooMi Jo’s HTM 3060 Lodging Management class.

Undergraduate & Graduate Students: Join us for a panel discussion hosted by the Castell @ College team!  The event will include a great line-up of amazing female leaders in the hospitality industry! You’ll learn about a variety of hospitality careers and how the female panelists balance families and aspirational careers. The Hotel Association of Canada Guelph Chapter will be holding a panel event in whcih professionals in the industry will be giving insights on the hospitality industry specifically focusing on the effects of Covid-19, the labour shortage, and sustainability practices in their workplaces. Panelists include Mandy Farmer, President & CEO of Hotel Zed and Joni-Raye Poole, General Manager at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dieppe Airport.  

Join us back in the classroom! The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 in Wines is an entry level qualification providing a straightforward introduction to wine. It is ideal for boosting the confidence of new or inexperienced front line staff in the hospitality and retail sectors.  It is also a great course for those wanting to know the main grape varieties and food and wine matching. This e-learning introductory course in beer education is designed for participants interested in furthering their knowledge and interest in beer. The course is completely self-directed and includes 8 separate modules and knowledge checks. It will take approximately 6 - 8 hours to complete and fully understand all of the materials. Once complete, you will have access to the online exam. Upon receiving your login information, you will have 30 days to complete the course. Course Date Wednesday, September 29 - October 28, 2021 (30 days, including examination)
