PCMA Students in Toronto

Students from the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Guelph Student Chapter at the University of Guelph attended the Canadian Innovation Conference on Sunday, November 22nd at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC).

The theme of the conference was "I envision, I inspire, I elevate". Students had the opportunity to network with industry professionals and enjoy a keynote presentation by Chef Michael Smith.

You Jia Lee, a tourism management major student and President of the PCMA University of Guelph Student Chapter had these words to say, "It was amazing to attend the CIC conference and gain an insight into the meeting and event industry. The opening ceremony was very exciting, especially when they introduced the theme of this year's conference 'I envision. I inspire. I elevate.' combined with effective visual presentation, audio and lighting effects. They would like to inspire the attendees and look at an issue from a different angle. A simple basic idea can make changes too! The keynote speaker, Chef Michael Smith was hilarious and inspiring. He talked about his successful career and setting a higher bar. He was the chef for the Winter Olympics Game 2010 and I was truly amazed with his dedication towards food and his job. It inspired me to strive to achieve above and beyond."
