J. Charles Grieco Will Always Be Remembered

Dear friends of the School,

It is with heavy heart that we share news of the passing of J. Charles Grieco on January 29, 2019. His restaurant La Scala set a new standard for fine cuisine in Toronto and over its 35 years of operation was a benchmark for all other restaurants in Canada. He led the Ontario Hostelry Institute since 1977 and as managing director of the Canadian Hospitality Foundation, helped raise millions for student awards. Honorary Doctor of the University of Guelph, Dr. Grieco will be remembered for his deep commitment to our industry.
