Wednesday Walks at the Arboretum

Nature is known to be unpredictable and unexpected, so what awaits us today?  Rachel, the Arboretum's Naturalist Intern, will be leading 1 hour long walks every Wednesday.  Walks start at The Arboretum kiosk at 12:15 p.m.   For further information contact Rachel at rirwin@uoguelph.ca or ext. 52363.  The hike may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.   

Free Body Blast Fitness Class

Experience a blend of intense cardio conditioning and resistance training intervals. This is class being offered for free to all faculty and staff.

College Idol

The University of Guelph's Got Talent!  Get your tickets for the annual College Idol celebration in support of United Way. $15/ticket or $13/ticket for table of 8. First come first serve. Contact Stephanie Craig scraig02@uoguelph.ca or Sarah Goody sgoody@uoguelph.ca for tickets. Doors open and a hot lunch served at 11:30 a.m. Show starts at noon and ends at 1:30 p.m. Dress in your Halloween best! Prizes for best individual and group costumes will be awarded. Bring a toonie to vote for your favourite idol!

Mood Routes Walk

Join us for a new mental health and physical activity program called Mood Routes. This new program (also known as Mood Walks) is initiated by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health. These walking groups aim to support the mental and physical health of our campus community members by providing them with an opportunity to take a step back from their responsibilities and stresses, engage with their community, and enjoy the healing effects of nature.

Festively decorate your work space or common office area with your colleagues and submit your photos using the hashtag #wellnessatUofG or email to wellnessatwork@uoguelph.ca. Use your creativity and have fun with your colleagues! Photos will be reviewed by a panel and prizes will be available for the best dressed office or work space!

"Worry is like a rocking chair. It rocks and rocks and gets us nowhere." So why do we do it? What perpetuates and even escalates this habit?  Do you even worry about how much you worry? How much is too much?  Is it possible to worry yourself sick?  How do we prevent it from running our life? Or giving us anxiety?

Free Pilates Class

The Pilates method focuses on core strengthening, breathing & alignment. This well-known exercise technique helps participants gain awareness of body alignment while strengthening key core and pelvic muscles to support posture and healthy spinal movement.
