Campus Mile: Kick-Off to Healthy Workplace Month 2023

Staff, faculty and students are invited to celebrate the launch of Healthy Workplace Month with the sixth annual U of G Campus Mile! This year, we will be hosting the event in-person on Johsnton Green and Parking Services has generously donated an Annual Red Parking Pass that one lucky participant of the Campus Mile will win!

Understanding Anxiety and Depression: Homewood Health

Mental health problems are an increasing concern in workplaces. Participants will gain an understanding of two of the most common mental health concerns, anxiety and depression. This session will provide CBT strategies for regulating one’s emotions and tips for supporting others who may be experiencing difficulties. Facilitator: Homewood Health Register through qualtrics

The Working Mind For People Managers- Part 1

Workplaces are playing a greater role in promoting positive mental health among employees. The Working Mind (TWM) is an evidence-based training developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada designed to provide practical knowledge and skills to address mental health in the workplace.

Planning to retire can be a source of both excitement and anxiety. Whatever the emotional response, retirement marks a transition to a new life stage and lifestyle in which daily routines, identity, and roles all change. This session will introduce participants to the emotional effects of retirement. Participants will get an opportunity to reflect on what their ideal retirement looks like and what they can do to make it happen. Facilitator: Homewood Health

Join us on a tour of what programming/services and equipment is available to our staff/faculty members and why the Athletic facilities might just be the best fit for you! Attendees of this tour will receive a free day pass for recreation in the Guelph Gryphons Athletics Centre, including access to the Fitness Centre and / or a fitness class, to use at their convenience!

"Steps to Supporting a Colleague in Distress" is a guide for staff and faculty to equip themselves with the skills to be able to recognize signs of distress, respond, and refer to appropriate resources.
