Trauma-informed Care

This two-hour, in-person training is designed to help all staff and faculty increase their knowledge and awareness about trauma and its impacts.  The training provides strategies for implementing the Six Principles of Trauma-Informed Care, including self-regulation and self-care practices, to improve competency in working with and supporting students who have experienced trauma. This training consists of four modules:

Community Connect and Colouring

Community Connect and Colouring is a relaxed lunchtime gathering for University of Guelph staff and faculty to take a creative break, connect with colleagues, and unwind over adult colouring pages in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. Whether attendees come on their own or with a colleague, the goal is to create a comfortable space for casual connection, quiet creativity, and a bit of midday recharge. Colouring materials will be provided and participants are welcome to bring their own art projects.

U of G Wellness@Work Grant Program Information Session 2026

The Wellness@Work Grant Program encourages faculty and staff across all campuses and research stations at the University of Guelph to help promote wellness in their workplace through the implementation of a tailored health‐promoting program, approach or idea in their workplace. Registration for this information session is for University of Guelph employees only within the Guelph campus, Ridgetown, and Research Station.

NRG Zone Drop-In: Free Employee Only Gym Access

Visit the GGAC's NRG Zone for a free drop-in. Employees should check in with Client Services upon arrival to register for their FREE day pass before heading upstairs to the NRG Zone. Receipt of the day pass should be brought to the NRG Zone as proof of entrance. Change rooms are available, but staff should bring their own locks. We highly recommend locking up your belongings. Outside shoes are not permitted in the NRG Zone. This new fitness space is located in Studio 3202 on the 3rd floor of GGAC. About the NRG Zone

Arboretum Spring Clean-Up

About the event Join us as we celebrate Earth month by helping us clean-up the litter in the Arboretum and enjoy the beautiful weather that Spring brings! Bring a colleague or even your whole team. Individuals will be put in pairs or groups of three as we clean the Arboretum.  Gloves, pickers, and garbage bags will be provided. Volunteers are invited to join us for lunch after from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm. Lunch will be provided, but is optional for volunteers.

Strong for Life: Functional Strength & Mobility for University Staff & Faculty

Staying strong and mobile is key to feeling your best- both at work and in everyday life. This noon-hour virtual workshop will introduce practical exercises that help build functional strength, improve mobility, and reduce the aches and stiffness that can come from long periods of sitting or repetitive work. You’ll learn how to incorporate short strength and mobility breaks into your day, helping you move more comfortably throughout your workday.
