NOV 22: G2T Charity Dinner Successful!
On Sunday, November 18th, Garden2Table partnered with several leaders in Wellington counties gastronomic community. The charity dinner, "Gastronomy through Generations", was a huge success. Guests filled PJs in the atrium to share an experience we will never forget. Food has brought our community together through the recognition of the importance of food sustainability and children's growing relationship with food. The evening celebrated the success of brining 1000 children through Garden2Tables community outreach program. The program brings local students to the Guelph Centre for Urban Organic Farming to learn where food comes from, learn about land and harvesting and how to prepare healthy snacks with the vegetables they harvest from the garden. Local ingredients were used to make a fantastic meal prepared by Borealis chefs, Simon Day, the Screaming Avocado, and several student volunteers from the University of Guelph. This truly is a program that relies on community support. We would like to thank everyone who has supported our efforts.

Guelph Mercury Story
Frontenac News
The HTMSA (Hospitality and Tourism Management Student Association) will be holding a special fundraiser in support of Drew Cumpson, a former HTMSA member, friend and fellow student. Extremely involved in campus life, he wholeheartedly participated in numerous charity events, including “Five Days for the Homeless”. It came as no surprise when Drew chose to postpone his summer co-op start date in order to volunteer with a University of Guelph program in Peru. However, it was a surprise when we learned that during this program, Drew fractured his C4 vertebra in a swimming accident.
Drew’s injuries are permanent and he is a quadriplegic. Though he is determined, this is a tough battle and an enormous financial burden. Consequently, apart from prayers and good thoughts, as Drew’s HTMSA family, we are showing our support by organizing a fundraiser with a silent auction.
This Friday, January 20th, our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of the wheelchair Drew needs. Drew Cumpson, a person with such a big heart deserves big help.
If you have any questions or would like to make a donation to the silent auction, please contact HTMSA's Director of Charitable Events at mchan03@uoguelph.ca
