Cinq à Sept Social at Brass Taps

Starting in February, Brass Taps is launching a new staff and faculty Friday social each week called Cinq à Sept.  Every Friday, from 4-8pm employees can go to Brass Taps to socialize and connect.  Free appetizers will be provided by Brass Taps and drink specials will be available.  Bring your colleagues and stop by!   On the last Friday of each month, there will be something fun programmed, in addition to the social time.  Coming up:

Wellness Friday - Helping Your Child Succeed at School

Every parent wants their child to be happy and successful at school. Many working parents struggle with knowing how to support their children with school-related activities. This session invites participants to seek a partnership between each child, the school and themselves as parents. This partnership creates positive structure at home to support their children's experience at school and looks for ways to reward effort rather than outcomes. Facilitator: Homewood Health

Uncharted Speaking Tour: Hear from NHL player Daniel Carcillo

On Feb. 6, Gryphon Athletics welcomes two-time Stanley Cup Champion and mental health advocate Daniel Carcillo who will present "Uncharted A Mental Health Awareness Speaking Tour."  The event is being run in partnership with Student Wellness, Wellness at Work and is supported by the U-of-G Mental Health and Well-being Fund. Recess League

Do you miss the good old days on the playground? We have the solution for you, Recess League runs weekly with a random sport picked each time inspired by school yard games. Recess League is a great way to have a mental wellness break in the middle of the work or school day! Examples of sports that are played in Recess League are 3-on-3 Basketball, Kickball, Nerf, Ultimate Frisbee, Scooter Dodge-ball, and so many more! There is no previous experience required.

Wednesday Walks at the Arboretum

Nature is known to be unpredictable and unexpected, so what awaits us today?  Rachel, the Arboretum's Naturalist Intern, leads 1 hour long walks every Wednesday year-round.  Walks start at The Arboretum kiosk at 12:15 p.m.   The hike may be cancelled if there is inclement weather.   Please check the Arboretum's Facebook and Instagram page for a notice if the weekly walk is cancelled due to weather.  For further information contact Sally at scheun06@uoguelph.ca or ext. 52363.
