Dr. Fauci Sends Congratulations Video to 2020 Grads Including U of G

Known globally for his role in leading the Trump Administration's White House Coronavirus Task Force, Dr. Anthony Fauci has sent a video out to 2020 university graduates, including graduates at the University of Guelph.

 

Dr. Alain Thomas (1946-2020)

thomasWe are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our colleague, Dr. Alain Thomas (1946-2020) on January 25th. Prof. Thomas began his career at the University of Guelph in 1983 after completing a Ph.D. in French Linguistics at the University of Toronto in 1982. He was proud of the reputation he had among students as a “tough” professor. His students had great respect for him, and he was devoted to them.

walsh and his donkeyIn early May, Dr John Walsh and 30 Guelph students and alumni traveled to Greece to visit historical monuments and locations.
The group visited Athens, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Corinth, Olympia, Delphi, and several Greek islands. Preparations are underway to visit again next year, and John plans to add Crete to the list of destinations.

Getting to Guelph

If you are driving from the Toronto area, take highway 401 W for 55km, then take exit 299, then make a right turn to Brock Road S (going northbound). A few kilometers after you pass the small town of Aberfoyle, this road becomes Gordon Street which leads you right to the University and the Royal Brock Hotel. The University is located on the Intersection of Gordon and Stone Rd. E.
