On March 16th and 17th from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., you will find local chefs displaying Canada's bounty through hands on cooking workshops for adults and children in PJ's Restaurant in the Atrium. Garden2Table's theme this year is entitled, 'The Whole Family From Field to Table' which brings experiential learning to everyone, through fun, interactive activities showcasing the connection between garden and table, as well as inside and outside of the home.
Lynsey Hodgson, a HAFA Co-op 2011 graduate is currently battling cancer. After spending a year on chemotherapy to battle brain cancer, she has found out that she requires more treatment. A penny drive has been set up to help support Lynsey. Please make a donation at the HTM main office, you will find a penny jar on the counter. Duff Shaw, a leader in Canada’s hospitality and tourism industry for nearly thirty years, is going to be a guest lecturer at the University of Guelph’s HTM program on Wednesday, March 13th, from 4-7pm. His career has included a position in the M&IT Hall of Fame (he was inducted as an inaugural member of the Hall of Fame in 2011), more than ten years as a Professor at Ryerson, and numerous accolades from industry, professional associations such as MPI, and academic institutions.
During Reading Week 2013 Prof. Justin Taillon and a group of HTMers visited Costa Rica to research best practices in hospitality and tourism sustainability.

Professors Michael von Massow and Justin Taillon will be co-teaching a directed study course titled "Hospitality Analytics & Consulting" during the F’13 semester. Six to eight students will work on two consulting projects and become CHIA-certified, a designation for hospitality consultants created in collaboration by STR, ICHRIE, and AH&LI. The University of Guelph will be the first Canadian University to offer this designation to students!
Despite a massive snow and rain storm that overwhelmed southern Ontario Tuesday, a celebratory dinner honouring Roland Walton, president, Tim Hortons Canada, was held at PJ's Restaurant in the Atrium, Macdonald Stewart Hall at the University of Guelph in Ontario.
Roland Walton, President of Tim Hortons Canada was the guest of honour last night at an appreciation dinner held in PJ’s. Alastair Summerlee, Julia Christensen Hughes, Joe Barth and Esther Lee spoke prior to an incredible dinner and dessert. A heartfelt talk by Roland, our Executive-in-Residence concluded the evening! Thank you Roland for taking the time to reach out to our students, we truly enjoyed your visit.

Roland Walton, president of Tim Hortons Canada, has been named the executive-in-residence in the University of Guelph’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) for the winter semester.
