Support of Student Outreach
Attracting new students to OAC is a team effort by staff, faculty, students and alumni. OAC has a variety of outreach programs such as Reach Ahead Days, and instructional resources for teachers and guidance professionals in the secondary school system. Through this outreach, OAC hopes to develop closer relations with the secondary school community by providing educators and students with resources and learning opportunities. The Foundation is pleased to support OAC’s outreach to the next generation of student leaders through funding provided by two OAC classes.
OAC ’53 Recruitment Grant
Provides $10,000 annually to the OAC from a fund that was established in 2002. The funds have been used in various ways to support the promotion of new programs such as the BBRM, student brochures and other program materials for high schools. The cheque is presented to the Dean at the annual Aggie Good Times Banquet.
OAC ’65 Reach Ahead Fund
Established in 2011, with a $150,000 fundraising goal for its 50th anniversary, the Reach Ahead Fund will provide an annual contribution to OAC in support of student outreach initiatives. The first cheque for $10,000 was presented at the Foundation’s AGM in 2012.
OAC Alumni Foundation Student Liaison Matching Project
To further boost the funding available for the college’s important outreach and student liaison initiatives, the Foundation undertook a specific fundraising project to create a fund to match any new funds raised by the classes of OAC ’53 and ’65. The project was launched in December 2012, and the first amount was presented at the AGM in May 2013.
