Two Ridgetown Campus Leadership Terms Extended
Two campus administrative appointments have been extended to ensure continuance of leadership until the fall. Ken McEwan and John Zandstra will continue in their roles as Director and Associate Director, Academic, respectively, while leadership searches are underway.
Earlier this year, two searches were launched for the positions of Director and Assistant Dean, Academic for the campus. Both searches are continuing, but have been delayed due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
“These extensions are an important part of maintaining leadership and stability for the campus during extraordinary circumstances,” shares Rene Van Acker, Dean of the Ontario Agricultural College. “I am very thankful that Ken and John have graciously agreed to continue to support the campus through these challenging times. The extensions ensure we have the time needed, and appropriate circumstances, to hire the right candidates for these critical roles.”
The OAC Dean’s Office is amidst an external search, conducted by Prime Management Group (PMG), for the Director role and hope to have an announcement on the incumbent in September. McEwan was scheduled to complete his time as director in June 2020 but will continue until September 30, 2020.
Zandstra will continue in the role of Associate Director – Academic until October 9th. The Assistant Dean – Academic position is currently posted on the internal faculty recruitment site and closes on May 8, 2020. The OAC Dean’s Office hopes to make an appointment announcement on this role in September 2020.
