On-Campus Experiences

Visit U of G for a day of experiential learning! Explore an important topic such as: horticulture, plant agriculture, environmental science, animal science, turfgrass production and management, food science or landscape architecture.

Select a topic from the list provided on our request form and we will create a specialized day for your class. Sessions include hands-on workshops and tours led by faculty, staff and students. On-Campus Experiences are offered by request and upon availability of session facilitators. 

Due to a high degree of popularity, on-campus experience requests are no longer being accepted for the winter semester.

Food Sensory Perception

Investigate how the olfactory and gustatory systems work together. Use your senses to learn about food perception and how that influences the food experience and product development.

Animal Housing

Combine your knowledge of the respiratory, circulatory, and digestive systems of various production animal species with information on how they relate to their physical environment. This workshop includes a brief information session with a cumulative hands-on challenge.

What’s on Your Plate?

Learn about various aspect of the food production industry. Gain a better understanding of where your food comes from and how it is gets to your table.

Cow Digestion

Explore ruminant digestion while testing your knowledge of biological systems and basic chemistry. This interactive workshop has several demonstrations and interactive activities.
