Applied Ethics (PHIL*4310)

Details

This offering of the course will be on Philosophy of Finance. Students will examine the epistemological foundations of finance and ask what can be known in finance. They will examine finance from an ontological perspective, asking questions such as: What is a hedge fund? Derivatives? What is money? What are interest rates and what is risk? And in light of these issues they will discuss ethical challenges presented by finance and financial services actors and entities.
