Ethics (PHIL*6230)

Term: Fall 2016


This course will treat the virtue ethics of Thomas Aquinas, working mostly from the great Summa Theologiae. We will examine Aquinas’ moral psychology, including his views on emotion, the will, habit, and virtue, and then proceed to examine some of his views on particular virtues such as practical wisdom, courage, and charity.

The University of Guelph resides on the land of the Between the Lakes Treaty No. 3, the territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
