Philosophy of Science Research Group

The University of Guelph stands out among Canadian universities as a place where philosophers and scientists engage one another in research and teaching.  Many of our philosophers are scientifically trained, and many of our scientists explore philosophical questions. These overlapping backgrounds and interests sustain a vibrant interdisciplinary culture.

The Philosophy of Science Research Group is an network of researchers at the University of Guelph who investigate theoretical, ethical and historical questions in science and medicine. It is composed of faculty and graduate students from the departments of Philosophy, Integrative Biology, Physics, Psychology, History, Environmental Sciences and Geography. Their aim is to promote the kind of cross-fertilization that advances both science and humanities.
