Horticulture SHSM Challenge Day

2017 OAC 3MT Competition

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a competition for graduate students in which participants present their research and its wider impact in three minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research in an engaging, accessible and compelling way, using only one slide. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their research to a wider audience, improve their oral presentation skills and to build excitement for research that is happening here at Guelph!

PhD in Rural Studies Thesis Defence: Anna Christy Hempel

School of Environmental Design and Rural Development PhD candidate Anna Christy Hempel will present her thesis: "Planning for Change in the Ontario Countryside: Using Visual Q‐methodology to Explore Landscape Preference" Everyone is welcome to attend!

A Discussion of Six Nations Land Rights Issues

Chief Ava Hill of Six Nations of the Grand River and Phil Monture, Lands Rights Consultant, will present and discuss Six Nations land rights issues. The formal presentation will be followed by a moderated discussion with the audience. Moderated by Prof. Brady Deaton, Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (FARE). Plant Science & Landscape Architecture Info Night

Grade 10, 11 and 12 high school students, parents, guidance counsellors and teachers are invited to learn more about animal programs offered through the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph. Parking and light refreshments are included. There is no cost to register, but space is limited. Please register for the Plant Science & Landscape Architecture Info Night online to reserve your spot.
