What do you look for in an application?

We look for students with a high GPA, high GRE scores, high grades in research methods and statistics, and strong letters of reference.

I don't have an Honours Psychology degree, but, I have substantial work experience is there a way for me to apply?

If you are in this situation, you would need to complete additional undergraduate courses to obtain an undergraduate Honours Psychology degree before your application would be considered.

I have an Honours Psychology degree, but, I didn't complete an Honours Thesis can I still apply?

To be considered for admission you should have some research experience. This may or may not involve an Honours Psychology thesis.

Do I need an Honours Psychology degree?

Yes, an Honours Psychology degree is required.

Industrial-Organizational (MA.PSYC) - Courses

Students must register in UNIV*7510 (Full-time registration) or UNIV*7520 (Part-time registration) to activate registration each semester.

In semesters where no other courses are taken, students should enrol in UNIV*7500 (Research/Writing) so that the term appears on their transcript.

Students should register in PSYC*7050 Research Seminar in I-O Psychology (Brown Bag Presentations) each Fall and Winter.

Regardless of whether students want to be researchers or practitioners we believe that they will be best served by obtaining a PhD.

Do I need to specify an advisor in my Graduate application?

Please indicate two to three faculty members that you would like to work with.

This is to ensure your application has the greatest chance of success because faculty availability can vary.
