This course will focus on feminism and democracy, especially in the writings of Charlotte Bunch, Amy Gutmann, Jane Mansbridge, and Martha Nussbaum. We will focus on three themes in particular: connections between theory and practice, democracy and education, and democracy and feminism internationally.

Evaluation (tentative):

Two papers, 45% each;

Class participation (written and/or spoken), 10%.
