A warm welcome to Dr. Kathleen Rodenburg, who has just joined the School's faculty on August 1st.

In Kathleen's words:

The School is thrilled to announce the offering of beer education.  With the success of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) certification courses, it made sense to look into beer as our next step.

The beer seminar series will launch in October, offering 'Beer Basics' in October, followed by 'Canadian Brewing Traditions" in January 2017, and 'Farmhouse Fermentation: Beer & Cheese' in March 2017.

The #hotelNEXT competition is a nationwide contest for Canadian University students to be creative and design their dream hotel. The conference producer of 'Big Picture Conferences', received 7 submissions comprised of students from 6 different universities.

The Top 30 Under 30 is an annual recognition program from the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) that celebrates the hospitality and foodservice industry's top 30 young professionals in all sectors.  This high profile recognition program celebrates and recognizes future leaders of the hospitality and foodservice industry who are and will make a difference!

This weekend the Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management Student Association (HFTMSA) will host its most anticipated event of the year - the Hospitality & Tourism Case Competition (HTCC). 

A speaker panel titled "Beyond the Beds: The Perspective of Canada's Leading Hotel Investment," features young professionals within the hotel investment industry will kick off the weekend on Friday, March 4th at 5:30 p.m.
