This past weekend, Saturday, March 16th, the University of Guelph hosted Forward Food - a Sustainable Food Systems Student Conference.

Congratulations to our HTCC winning teams this weekend! We took home first and second place in the tourism category and first place in the hospitality category.

First Place Hospitality goes to Cassia Groenenberg, Sahad Kassam, Shruti Kukreja.

First Place Tourism goes to Alex Owens, Yufeng Yang, Jacqueline Simard.

Second Place Tourism goes to Upreet Dhanoa, Anna Welgan, Mandy Tian

The Top 30 Under 30 is an annual recognition program from the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) that celebrates the hospitality and foodservice industry's top 30 young professionals in all sectors.  This high profile recognition program celebrates and recognizes future leaders of the hospitality and foodservice industry who are and will make a difference!

Forward Food is a sustainable food systems student conference taking place at the University of Guelph on Saturday, March 16th, 2019. The purpose of the conference is to bring Hospitality and Culinary students from across Ontario the opportunity to learn about some of the major environmental sustainability themes arising in the hospitality industry, and to discuss how these themes are impacting the industry globally. The main topics throughout the conference are Food Waste, Plant Based Food, Sustainable Sourcing, and creating Foodscapes in Education.

The Hospitality & Tourism Case Competition (HTCC) will take place at the School on Saturday, March 2, 2019.  HTCC provides an opportunity for students in Hospitality and Tourism Programs to demonstrate their presentation skills, problem-solving skills and creativity by answering challenging case questions in front of a panel of industry leaders.
