Digital Humanities Pedagogy:
Transforming the Classroom

Instructor:

Diane Jakacki        Bucknell University

Description:

How do you effectively incorporate DH methods, tools, and platforms into humanities learning environments? How do you ensure that course objectives and learning outcomes are met when experimenting with assignments that involve digital registers for analysis, research, and writing? What do you need to know in order for you and your students to succeed? In this course we will do three things: 1) experiment with digital tools and platforms that can be deployed in a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses; 2) deconstruct and analyse existing assignments that include such tools and platforms; 3) outline what is necessary to make such assignments successful for you. By the end of the course participants should have designed at least one teachable assignment.
