Elevating Our Shared Priorities: Fall 2019 Update

In the summer of 2018, OAC released a strategic vision, Our Shared Priorities, to guide the college until 2023.

The college is now reporting back to its community for the first time, with a listing of actions, new initiatives, process changes, investments and best practices.

“Busy schedules mean that sometimes things move more slowly than planned,” explains Rene Van Acker, dean of the college. “One of the items that moved more slowly than I would have liked is reporting back to the OAC community on the progress we made on furthering Our Shared Priorities. Because of this, we have decided on a nimbler approach for sharing updates.”

Each semester the Our Shared Priorities section of the OAC website will be updated with best practices and examples from OAC’s academic units, the Dean’s Office and Ridgetown Campus.

The list will be populated by the members of Dean’s Council, including the dean, associate deans, directors and chairs, and the associate director of finance and administration.

OAC community members are also encouraged to submit their own accomplishments and actions to oacdean@uoguelph.ca to ensure a full view of activities is captured and shared.

Our Shared Priorities acts as a touchstone for the college, helping its staff, faculty and students focus their efforts and remind the whole college of the value placed on: student successachieving excellencesupporting our peopleorganizational effectiveness and our legacy and reputation
